Passenger flows in 1999.

The statistics of passenger flows when the study was carried out in 1999 was determined by means of distribution of checking coupons with the boarding station code to all people entering the metro that were then collected as they exited the stations, by the Metro staff. Then a rather complicated process followed that involved data calculation and sorting taking into account the multi-million volumes of daily traffic in the Moscow Metro.

In return the results of the study permitted to collect data on the volume of passenger flows in inter-station passages.
